The social and services radio in Spain: the example of 'juntos paso a paso', from Radio Nacional de España

Abstract
The upward trend in life expectancy and the consequent aging population has led to large number of chronic diseases and disabilities. In that context media cannot ignore reality. This paper focuses on the degree of attention paid by spanish radio groups to elderly and disabled people. The study highlights the need to raise awareness of the lack of attention given to these social groups by media programmers.
